EVERYTHING GOT OUT. THE HOPE IS AT THE BOTTOM.
THE ONE-WAY DOOR
Brent touched $110, and Washington offered 17 million barrels of the reserve
The offer is a loan, not a sale. The last one on these terms found almost no takers.
A ship went down in the strait. A missile flew at a Saudi oil port. Ukraine said it would hit Russian refineries again. Then, on Friday, Washington offered to lend out 17 million barrels.
Brent settled at $109.86, up 3.7 percent, and touched $110 during the day. That is its highest settlement since May 19.
West Texas Intermediate settled at $101.41, the highest since September 17. Across the week Brent gained 4.9 percent and WTI gained 10.4 percent.
PAID PARTNERSHIP
According to reports, we’re talking about 65 billion barrels spread across 17 Venezuelan oil fields.
For comparison, the United States currently has roughly 46 billion barrels of proven domestic oil.
Combined, that would put Washington in control of around 7% of all proven reserves on the planet.
The media are treating this as a deal to lower gas prices, rebuild Venezuela and refill America’s depleted Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Because I don’t believe this is just about oil.
It’s about the U.S. dollar.
The last time America reset its monetary system, in 1974, oil sat at the very heart of it.
A secret pact with Saudi Arabia created the petrodollar, and changed the financial destiny of an entire generation.
Over the next 50 years, America created, on average, more than a thousand new millionaires every day.
Yet millions of ordinary workers and savers, who were never told that the rules of money had changed, watched their wages fall behind and their savings steadily hollowed out.
Now, assuming the deal is accurate as reported, Trump has secured a 35% U.S. government stake in the company controlling these Venezuelan fields…
Guaranteed access to 20% of its oil at production cost, with first refusal on the remaining 80%…
And concessions lasting an entire century.
Perhaps most revealingly, the agreement is pushing Chinese operators out of strategic Venezuelan oil fields.
That’s because Venezuela isn’t an isolated oil deal.
A reset that connects everything from the government’s billion-dollar stakes in obscure mining companies…
To the reopening of retired nuclear facilities and Trump’s obsession with invading Greenland and annexing Canada.
And if I’m right, the consequences won’t stop at the gas pump.
This could affect the purchasing power of the money you’ve saved…
The value of the assets inside your investment portfolio…
And which companies receive the first flood of capital as Trump’s New Dollar takes hold.
Strung together by a flurry of executive orders and a 13-nation treaty signed inside the State Department, most folks have no idea this is happening, let alone how to prepare for it.
That’s why, in my new investigation, I reveal how Venezuela fits into Trump’s secret dollar reset…
Why this controversial initiative could be exposed to the world as soon as December…
The five mission-critical companies I believe sit at the center of the new monetary system…
And the name and ticker of my No. 1 move to make today.

WHAT 17 MILLION BARRELS BUYS THE WORLD
→
The world burns more than 100 million barrels a day. Divide, and the whole offer covers about four hours of it.
The Department of Energy issued the request for proposals on Friday morning.
The word to notice is exchange. Companies borrow the crude and return it later, with extra barrels on top.
It sits inside a deal struck in March. About thirty countries in the International Energy Agency agreed to release 400 million barrels.
Washington committed 172 million of those, as a loan rather than a sale. The reserve holds about 283 million barrels today. That is the whole cushion.
Here is the part worth knowing. A similar offer went out in June and found almost no takers.
Reports put that take at around half a million barrels. The repayment premium was more than refiners wanted to pay.
So the headline number is an offer, not a delivery. Whether any of it moves depends on terms, not on need.
Goldman Sachs puts about $24 a barrel of war premium inside the current price. The rest is supply and demand.
Two readings of the same week sit side by side. US Central Command said more than forty vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in a day.
Kpler analysts wrote that intensified Iranian attacks drove Gulf crude flows sharply lower.
Central Command also confirmed that a container ship which sank in the strait this week was hit by an Iranian projectile.
A Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a ballistic missile heading for Yanbu, a Red Sea port central to Saudi exports.
At home the pump follows crude, with a lag of a week or two. Crude moves first.
The national average had been easing through the middle of the month. That easing is now pushing against a double-digit week in crude.
Friday carried a second story. Chip shares fell for an eighth straight day, the longest run since 2008.
The Nasdaq closed its worst week since June. CoreWeave fell almost 12 percent, a day after the head of Nvidia said he was optimistic about it.
FROM OUR PARTNERS
Take a look at this…
Nvidia poured over $7B into this
It’s a radical “light-speed” device that’s turning AI as we know it into “Accelerated AI”, making it 100 times faster and 100 times more energy efficient.
In fact, Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s founder and CEO, says this device is shattering the limitations of AI and without it, AI can’t scale.
If you want to discover what this technology is, why Nvidia is betting billions on it…
And the one stock we believe could be the biggest winner when “Accelerated AI” goes mainstream…
Fuel is only one line in the cost of keeping a car on the road.
Insurance, tires and the loan payment do not move with Brent. They run on their own schedule. One of them is worth a look this weekend.

EVERY LEAD PASSES BEFORE IT RUNS
The One-Way-Door Test
01
Can it be undone?
Barrels do come back under an exchange, with a premium in crude. The reserve is still smaller while they are out.
A LOAN
02
Who is already repositioning?
Refiners, carefully. They left the June offer on the table once already, and the terms have not changed much.
FEW TAKERS
03
What does being late cost?
A week or two at the pump. Crude moves on a Friday and the sign on the corner answers later.
THE LAG
THE MOVE · WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME
Write down what you paid a gallon this week, with the date beside it. Crude moved about 10 percent in five days. The pump has not answered yet.
Pump prices rise faster than they fall. One week of crude is a direction, not a forecast.
ALSO GOT LOOSE TODAY

US commercial crude stocks fell by more than 8 million barrels in the week to October 9. Hurricane Isaias had shut in Gulf Coast production.
RESOURCES

The Treasury closed the 2026 fiscal year with a deficit of $1.99 trillion. That is $217 billion wider than the year before.
MONEY

The International Energy Agency now expects a global oil surplus to arrive in 2027. Its earlier call was late 2026.
LATER
WHAT’S LEFT AT THE BOTTOM
A reserve exists for exactly this kind of week. An offer going out on a Friday is the dull part of the system doing its job.
