EVERYTHING GOT OUT. THE HOPE IS AT THE BOTTOM.
THE ONE-WAY DOOR
Social Security set next year’s raise in October, and the deduction that shrinks it is still unpublished
Nearly 72 million people get 3.6 percent in January. What Medicare takes back first prints around the middle of this month.
How much of a raise is a raise? For nearly 72 million people, that gets decided twice.
The Social Security Administration set the 2027 increase on 14 October.
It is 3.6 percent.
Nearly 72 million people get it in January.
About 7.3 million people on Supplemental Security Income get theirs on 31 December, a day earlier.
The average retirement benefit rises by about 75 dollars a month.
That is the first decision, and it is final.
A benefit amount is a number in a system, and other systems read it. That is the whole subject of the block below.

Bito AI Architect
Imagine an AI assistant changing how an app stores customer time zones. The change passes every test, and the billing system that reads those records starts charging some customers twice. Bito works on that blind spot. Its AI Architect maps how a company’s software connects, and the coding assistant checks the map before a change ships. In an independent test, that lifted AI success on real-world coding tasks from 51.9% to 70.1%.
The buyers with the most to lose are paying attention: Bito says multiple Fortune 500 companies are in pilots. Its round is open on Wefunder.

Two agencies, two numbers.
The second decision has not been made public.
Medicare takes the Part B premium out of the benefit before it reaches the account.
This year that premium is 202 dollars and 90 cents a month.
The programme trustees put next year near 209 dollars and 50 cents.

THE RAISE, SET ON 14 OCTOBER
→
One agency announces the raise. A different one decides what is left of it, and it has not announced yet.
That is a rise of about 6 dollars and 60 cents, or roughly 3.3 percent.
Against a 75 dollar raise, it takes back close to a tenth.
The annual deductible moves as well, from 283 dollars to about 292.
None of those Medicare figures are final.
The order matters.
The agency usually publishes them in the middle of November.
So one half of the sum is fixed and the other is an estimate.
The raise is one line in a retirement account. The block below is about the other lines.

Dear Friend,
China’s military has been ordered to be ready to take Taiwan by 2027.
That’s not a guess.
It comes straight from the director of the CIA.
And Wall Street’s acting like it’ll never happen.
Here’s the problem.
43 stocks sitting inside ordinary American retirement accounts stand first in the line of fire.
If you own a 401(k), an IRA, or a single index fund, you could have money riding on dozens of them right now.
Without even knowing it.
Dylan Jovine just put all 43 on one list.
Ranked by danger.
You can’t Google it, and right now he’ll send it to you free.
Wall Street has never once seen a war coming.
Don’t let your retirement be next.

It helps to be clear about what this adjustment is.
A cost of living adjustment is not a pay rise.
It is a backward-looking repair, set by what prices already did.
It restores purchasing power that last year took away.
That gap is the story.
It does not add any.
What it restores then depends on what is subtracted first.
The subtraction is a medical premium.
EVERY LEAD PASSES BEFORE IT RUNS
The One-Way-Door Test
01
Can it be undone?
The 3.6 percent cannot. It is set by a formula on third quarter price data and no vote reopens it.
FORMULA
02
Who is already repositioning?
Nobody can. A benefit is not a position, which is why the only lever here is the spending side.
NO LEVER
03
What does being late cost?
Nothing in January. It costs in December, when people plan around a gross figure that gets trimmed.
DECEMBER
A fixed income restores. It is not built to compound, which is the argument the block below makes.

THE MOVE · TWO VERSIONS, PICK YOURS
If you draw a benefit, wait for the December statement rather than the January headline. The net figure is the only one that spends.
If you are still working, the number to watch is the taxable maximum. It moves on the same wage data and changes what comes out of a paycheck.
The Medicare figures above are the Trustees’ estimates, not the final ones. The agency’s own release quotes two different beneficiary counts. It says 76 million in the Commissioner’s words and nearly 72 million in the text.
