The committee draws its own path. In June its dot plot put the funds rate at 3.8 percent by the end of this year. Futures closed yesterday near 4.2.
The effective rate today is 3.63 percent. Tomorrow the committee publishes a fresh set of dots alongside the decision. The June ones stop mattering at two in the afternoon.
